FAQs

How does your A La Carte menu work?

Every week, I create a brand new menu designed around the seasons and my favourite dishes.

Select which day you would like delivery (you can choose one, or both) and then choose as many meals as you would like.

Deliveries are made on Monday and Wednesday evenings, between 6:00pm-9:00pm, across Central London and we can leave your order in a safe place if you're going to be out.

Where do you deliver?

We currently deliver most of Central London - if you’d like to check if we deliver to you, just drop us a message here.

Here's an (almost perfect) map of our current delivery radius. We recommend that you check your postcode on our menu page before placing your first order.

If we don't deliver to you yet - leave your details here and we'll let you know as soon as we can!

How much does it cost?

Meals are individually priced, and the minimum spend is £35.

Delivery is £5 per day, orders over £120 are eligible for free delivery.

How does delivery work?

We prepare, chill and deliver the food on the same day for optimum freshness.

Delivery is made between 6:00pm-9:00pm on your selected delivery day.

Our meals are transported in insulated cool bags with our couriers, and then we hand over the meals to you in simple paper bags to reduce excessive waste packaging.

This means you should ensure you are home during the delivery window, to receive your delivery, or leave us a note at the checkout if we should leave with a neighbour or in a safe place.

How long does the food last?

All meals come with a best before date, and we recommend keeping food in the fridge for 3 days from delivery, or freezing for up to one month where appropriate.

How do you package your meals?

We're 100% recyclable!

After extensive research, I pack all meals in specialist containers that are made from FSC certified paperboard, which is safe for use in the microwave, oven and storing in the fridge and freezer. They're fully recyclable, just give them a rinse and pop them in your regular recycling bin.

The lids are made from easily recyclable PP to ensure that your meals are securely sealed, so they can go in your regular recycling bin too.

Labels can be recycled with the containers so no need to remove, and our delivery bags are fully recyclable too.

Meals are transported in cool bags, and then handed over in a simple recyclable paper bag to prevent waste packaging. Please ensure you're home to receive your delivery, and store your meals in the fridge upon receipt.

Where do you source your ingredients?

We have tried and tested many of London's best suppliers before deciding on our ongoing partners, to ensure we always work with the best quality and most sustainable choices when it comes to ingredients.

Currently, we work with Jones the Butcher, using Red Tractor Assured Chicken, and the best quality British Beef, Pork + Lamb for our butchery.

We work with Oui Chef to source the best British and European fruit and vegetables, with the best seasonal ingredients available.

Finally, we work with Direct Seafoods who are very focused on sustainability - to provide us with fresh fish each day. We use Loch Duart Salmon from Scotland - because it's delicious!

How do I reheat the food?

There are cooking instructions on each meal label, so you can always feel confident reheating your meals correctly.

Reheating in a microwave oven is the speediest way to enjoy your healthy meals, but you can enjoy on the stove in under 10 minutes too. If you would like reheating instructions for this, please just drop us an email at orders@bychefjen.co.uk

What if I have an allergy?

All meals are displayed on the menu with full allergens.

If you have an allergy, please leave a note at the checkout so that the kitchen is aware.

It is your responsibility to inform us of any allergens, and we cannot guarantee that any of our meals are free from traces of all of the main food allergens, as we handle all of them in our kitchen.

We follow strict procedures in our kitchen to avoid cross contamination.

Cancellation Policy?

You may cancel your order by writing to us at: chefjen@wecooklondon.co.uk, with 48 hours notice.

Cancellations made after this point will not be refunded, but you may donate/send your meals to another local address if you prefer.

Every meal is made to order, which allows us to order exactly the amount of fresh produce that we need each day. We do this to operate as close to zero waste as possible, hence our cancellation policy.
